Who Am I

Hi!

My name is Andrew (or Andrei in my native language) and I am from Romania.

I love photography and I also love teaching and helping other people.

With this things in mind I started this site.

My mission is simple: I want to help beginners to learn photography with written tutorials and video tutorials (coming soon 🙂 )

My Story

I first picked up the DSLR back in 2015. But I was dreaming of becoming a photographer even since I was a child.

My first camera was a Nikon D5200 with an 18-55 kit lens.

I had no ideea whatsoever on how a camera works or how to change the settings. I only knew that there was a Manual setting and the Auto setting – the others, not. Then I spent the nights surfing Youtube and the internet trying to find out how my camera works.

I’ve spent countless hours finding good advice, bad advice, mediocre, awesome and bad advice.

I had the hardest time when it came about organizing and putting in order all the things learned. It is not easy to go from a composition tutorial (btw, here you can check an article about the rule of thirds 🙂 ) to another one on golden hour, to one on astro photography.

If you jump from one thing to another – and these are unrelated – you’ll have a hard time, and I’ve learnt this the hard way.

And back then I couldn’t find any good and cheap photography courses. So I had to figure it out with the free content I could find on the internet.

And also books – they were cheaper and many of them are of very high value.

My Solution

What have I done to solve this? I’ve begun “teaching” photography to myself. But how?

I’ve taken all the things I’ve learned and tried to structure them and then teach them to myself.

After doing this, all things have became more clear to me.

A couple of years after, some friends picked up photography too. I decided to offer my help and guidance. So, I thought them about exposure, composition, camera settings and other things they needed to know.

Guess what? They’ve had an easier time getting the hang of photography. They’ve learnt faster and better than I did.

My Resolution

Given my frustration with disorganized free content and expensive courses, I’ve decided to bring the solution to the table: Better organized and high quality free content and inexpensive courses.

I’m not an expert photographer by any means, but I’ve learned a lot in the last few years that I’ve been practicing photography and wanted to share the things I’ve learned.

The learning process is continuous. We never stop learning. I like to say it like this: “As long as we learn, we live.” So, I want to live in every single day of my life.
